Every year hundreds of event filmmakers attend the WEVA International Expo to learn from industry experts and compete in the coveted Creative Excellence Awards(CEA). Event filmmakers from all over the world compete in 15 categories winners are judged by an industry panel. For the first time in WEVA's history the the Trailer Category was narrowed down to six contenders, including us. The final round of judging was then completed by a online vote of all WEVA attendees and bridal consultants. We are honored that Vanessa & Matt's Trailer placed second. We were also awarded a Finalist CEA for Christina & David's Short Form Wedding Film. Congratulations to all the 2011 CEA winners!

It was a beautiful day for a wedding at the Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA. Sarah and Rick shared their hand written vows with family and friends surrounding them. All the decorations where handmade by the bride and no detail was overlooked. She even grew the grass that was used in the centerpieces, how cool is that?! Their reception was filled with dancing, a photo booth with cute props, and a coldstone creamy booth, gotta love that! Jeanine + Harry's Brandywine Manor Wedding Trailer

Under a canopy of trees and in front of a bubbling waterfall is where Jeanine and Harry tied the knot. Brandywine Manor House's reception tent was beautifully decorated in the couple's yellow and gray color theme. The enitire bridal party even arrived in a yellow school bus...talk about keeping with a color theme! Photos were taken on the grounds of Brandywine Manor House by Keyai Lee. Schaffer Sound provide music as the couple and their guests danced the night away.

Andrea & Onan traveled all the from the west coast to be wed at the picturesque Pearl S Buck House. The couple shared their vows under a sycamore tree in front of the historic 1834 farmhouse. Andrea & Onan's dogs were the ring bearers and the vintage inspired bridesmaids dresses were designed by one of the bridesmaids. Wow, was this a unique wedding! In fact, the priest shared that it was the first time in the United States that two brothers would marry two sisters! During the bridal preparation traditional Lebanese music and dancing filled the house. The musicians then escorted the sisters to their limo to take them to the church. The two couples where married at the Holy Ghost Parish in Bethlehem, PA. After the ceremony, photos where taken on the campus of Lehigh University by Wesley Works. The celebration continued at the Holiday Inn Fogeslville where DJ George Youwakim from Gruvin' Enterprises along side the Hisham Barakat and ensemble kept their guest dancing. They also provided the uplighting that made the Millennium Hall look spectacular. Sylvia & Norman's wedding day was filled with love, laughter and lots of tradition. The day began at Sylvia's parents house where her and her bridesmaid prepared for the big day with hair and makeup. In order for Norman to see his bride he first had to prove his love by completing a series of tasks presented to him by Sylvia's bridesmaids. These wedding door games consisted of trivia questions, push ups, and an acapella rendition of Casey & Jojo's All My Life. The couple then headed to their favorite locations around the city for photos with Ryan Estes Photography. Locations included a Sonic drive in and City Hall where a local Philadelphia street musicain serenade the couple Here Comes the Bride, how cool is that! After Sylvia & Norman were wed at Chinese Gospel Church in Philadelphia, they headed to Drexelbrook to continue the celebration. Caroline & Joey's excitement for their wedding was infectious. From our first meeting with them to the very end of the reception they never stopped smiling. Caroline's day began with her bridesmaids at the Hyperion Salon in Easton, PA. Make up was done by Lori Smith from European Concept Salon & Spa. Caroline's Tiffany blue theme was everywhere from the bridemaid's dresses, the uplighting provided by Mittman Entertainment, the centerpieces, and there even was a stack of oversized Tiffany boxes in the brides' dressing room. Caroline & Joey exchanged vows at St Johns Lutheran Church in Easton. Tim and Liz Miller Photography captured some stunning photos of the couple at the Acopian House grounds. Their guests enjoyed the crooning styles of Michael Sherer at the Candlelight Reception & Conference Center in Bethlehem, PA and their DJ Fly Guy Entertainment kept the celebration going till the end. Abominable Productions Wins Silver at WEVA International

Last week Abominable Productions traveled to Orlando, FL to attend WEVA International's 20th annual Conference & Expo. This is our industry's largest gathering of wedding and event videographers. The week was filled with workshops from industry leaders, an expo with the latest trends in technology and an opening night gala with film festival. We were honored to be awarded with a Silver WEVA International Creative Excellence Award (CEA) in the Theatrical/Stage Category. "Each year, WEVA invites all professional videographers to enter their finest work in our industry’s most prestigious awards competition," said WEVA Chairman Roy Chapman. The Creative Excellence Awards, "represents the highest honor in production achievement in our industry." This is our third year in a row winning a CEA in theatrical and it is an honor to recognized with our fellow colleagues.

Angela & Russell tied the knot on July 17, 2010 in historic Johnstown, PA. If you're a local Johnstownian you'll recognize the view from the top of the inclined plane and the historic stone bridge, two of Angela's favorite landmarks. The happy couple was married at the Church of the Visitation by Angela's uncle. She wore a gorgeous couture dress designed by Jonathan Kayne of Project Runway fame. After the ceremony Angela & Russell shared a fun choreographed first dance at the scenic Green Gables Restaurant. Their guests danced the night away with music provided by Rockin' Bob's DJ. Remember The Children - I Never Saw Another Butterfly

Over 15,000 Jewish childern passed through Terezin, and only about a hundred were still alive when Terezin was liberated at the end of the war. One of the survivors, Raja, having lived through it all, teaching the children when there was nothing to teach with, helping to give them hop when there was little enough reason for hope, creating a little world of laughter, of flowers, and butterflies behind the barbed wire, tell the true story of the children. It's her play and it's theirs. There were no butterflies at Terezin, of course, but for the children, butterflies became the symbol of hope.

The GPVA(Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association) wrapped up 2009 with a Film Festival on December 15. Abominable Productions participated and competed among the best wedding and event videographers in the Philadelphia area. The work that was shown was outstanding and we were privileged to win Gold in both the social event and wedding categories. Oksana & Michael were married on October 10, 2009 at St. Michael Orthodox Church in Pottsville, PA. Before heading off to the reception, they stopped at the historic Yuengling Mansion for photos. This was the former home of the Yuengling family and now is the site of the Schuylkill County Council for the Arts. Their reception at the Ramada was filled with dancing and fun Russian traditions. Lisa & Mark were married on September 26, 2009 in Honey Brook, PA. Lisa wore a stunning vintage wedding gown. After the ceremony, the bridal sported matching pink and brown Chuck Taylor sneakers which was appropriate for the action packed reception at the Brandywine Manor House. During dinner the guests were entertained by some outstanding karaoke. Meanwhile Lisa changed into a white cocktail dress to prepare for a special surprise. Lisa & Mark surprised their guests with an awesome hip hop dance. This really was a great way to kick off the party, which continued with more dancing, karaoke, and a photo booth. Abominable Productions Wins Gold at WEVA International

On September 14 Abominable Productions traveled to Orlando, FL to attend the 19th Annual Wedding & Event Videographers Association annual convention. Kicking off the week was the WEVA International 19th Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition. We were honored to win a Gold Creative Excellence Award (CEA) in the Theatrical/Stage Category. "Each year, WEVA invites all professional videographers to enter their finest work in our industry’s most prestigious awards competition," said WEVA Chairman Roy Chapman. The Creative Excellence Awards, "represents the highest honor in production achievement in our industry." This was our second year attending WEVA, last year we were awarded with a CEA finalist award in the Theatrical category. In addition to the awards gala, we attended three days of jammed packed seminars on everything from shooting and editing to marketing. We also had a chance to see the latest technology and trends at the WEVA trade show. This year's WEVA Expo was inspiring and lots of fun and we can't wait till next year's 20th WEVA Expo.

Jim Wins Second Place in GPVA's 2009 Battle of the Editors

Fourteen talented editors from the greater Philadelphia area participated in the GPVA's (Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association) 2009 Battle Of The Editors. The competitors had one month, one hour of the same footage and complete artistic freedom to create a three and a half minute video. On April 21st at the GPVA's monthly meeting, the entries were viewed. All the entries were very creative and showcased the talent of the GPVA members. The members voted and Jim was honored to receive second place.

WEVA International is the largest wedding and event videographers organization. Every year hundreds of videographers attend the WEVA International Expo to learn from industry experts, try out new equipment and compete in the coveted Creative Excellence Awards(CEA).Videographers from all over the world compete in 15 categories ranging from Bridal Prep, Ceremony, Theatrical or Corporate. A panel of judges award a gold, silver and bronze in each category and upon their discretion a finalist award for a video submission that is so close to bronze. This was our first year attending the WEVA Expo and our first time competing in the CEA Film Festival. We were honored to recieve a CEA Finalist Award in the category of Theatrical/Live Stage Event. On October 16, Abominable Productions participated in the Greater Philadelphia Videographers Association's 2007 Film Festival. Philadelphia's finest videographers sumbmitted their best work to be viewed by GPVA members and reviewd by a panel of judges. This was our first compition we entered and we were thrilled to be awarded the Silver Award in the Wedding Category. Congratulations to all winners.
